A multicultural community
We welcome students from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures and ages. Sharing the diversity of cultural and spiritual values with other participants coming from all over the world, provides a unique experience of intercultural living and thus a perfect springboard toward missionary life.
Accomodation and meals
All class activities, Eucharist, as well as accommodation and meals are provided onsite. Meals are also provided during the weekends for those who have registered. Each participant has a private room with a shower. Bedding and towels are provided and cleaned. A laundry service is included for students’ clothes.
Around the abbey
Our centre is located in a beautiful setting in the St Nicholas Abbey, in Angers. Built in 1020, the Abbey is a unique and historical place for the students to discover, explore and enjoy. They can also make most of the exceptional surroundings: the Abbey is bordered by a park in which students can relax and clear their minds amongst the vines of the Abbey’s vineyards or in the orchards. Next to the Abbey, there are lots of shops (pharmacy, grocery…), places of worship as well as places to go for a walk.
A city of art and history, situated in western France, in a region well-known for its mild climate, Angers has many attractive features:
- one and a half hours from Paris by TGV (a fast train)
- the third missionary diocese of France, with welcoming and dynamic parishes
- a rich cultural and religious heritage: cathedral, churches, castle (with the Apocalypse Tapestry), museums, theaters…
- the nearby Loire Castles, Fontevraud Abbey, Lisieux Sanctuary, Mount Saint Michael, the Atlantic Ocean…
